Mik's background is 100% adviser. He left school to join an adviser firm specialising in investments and pensions. From there he joined LSD Software which became part of Fame Computers in the early 90's. From Fame to Focus and then to 1st, which Mik co-founded in 1994 with Rory Curran. After selling 1st to Vertex in 2006 Mik has been involved in a number of businesses. Mik first invested in moneyinfo (formerly Sammedia) in 2010 and took over as CEO in 2014.
With 15 years experience in the Financial Services industry including 9 years at 1st Software (now Iress), and 2 years at FinQS, Tessa has worked closely with a wide range of clients from Employee Benefits Consultancies, National IFAs and Networks to Mortgage Brokerages and smaller Financial Planning companies. Most recently she has directed a large scale programme to deliver a bespoke workplace solution for one of the UK’s largest employee benefits consultancies.
Tessa has extensive programme and project management experience being Prince2 Practitioner qualified and holds a number of the CII Financial Planning qualifications from FPC to Business Financial Planning.
Business Development Director
Sim is Business Development Director for moneyinfo (formerly Sammedia) and has assisted the company in more than doubling its turnover in recent years. Sim has 13 years experience in the Financial Services industry including 7 years at 1st Software (now Iress) and 2 years at FinQS before joining the board of moneyinfo in 2010. He has experience of working with a large range of clients from small to national adviser firms to wealth management businesses and workplace specialists.
Sim has a BA in Economics and a number of financial qualifications including the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
Chris is responsible for the architectural design and development of our software products as well as ensuring that all our solutions conform to the highest technical standards using the latest technologies. With over 20 years software development experience, Chris has extensive technical expertise in financial services software having previously worked as Technical Architect for 1st Software (now Iress), as well as being Development Manager for Wealth Management Software (WMS) heading up a team of 35 developers.
He holds the MCPD-EA (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer for Enterprise Applications) Qualification.
Tom has extensive experience of the sector, previously serving on the boards of national financial services and employee benefit distributors, and operating as a European Partner with Mercers throughout the 1990's. In 2000, he jointly formed The Silent Partner business consultancy and in the last 5 years has operated almost exclusively as a private investor, advisor to the board, NED and NED Chair to a variety of organisations ranging across financial services distributors, a UK trust corporation, marketing and written communcations agencies.
Non-executive Financial Director
David has 25 years experience of working in business and finance. A chartered accountant, who moved into business in the mid 1990’s, helping transition a family business to a fully listed company. He served as finance director, and chief operating officer in the listed company for four years, before returning to the SME sector. Now working, and investing in a small portfolio of businesses across a number of sectors. He became a shareholder in Sammedia Limited in 2010, and joined the Board as a non executive director in 2015.
Phil has been involved with financial software development for 25 years when he launched Finale a back office administration system widely used by IFAs and IFA Networks in the early 90s. Finale became part of Data Sciences and then went on to merge with AssureSoft, who developed the AssureWeb platform, and was acquired by Ken Davy’s DBS Management plc in 1997. Phil then launched Screen Pages in the early days of dot-com and developed many award winning IFA websites as well as e-commerce sites for many well-known retailers. Today he is CEO of employee benefits software company Staffcare which he founded in 2004. He is also an Adviser to two other Fintech companies and an active investor in several early stage disruptive technology businesses .
Peter worked for AEGON UK from 1981 until 2011 and was appointed to the Executive Management Board in 2000. His responsibilities included managing the integration of a series of businesses that were acquired between 2000-2005, including Guardian Assurance, Positive Solutions and the 5 IFA businesses that became Origen. Following 2 years as a Director of Individual Business, in 2007 he was appointed Director of Partnership and Distribution Development with a brief to develop non IFA business. Peter formed The Dornan Partnership in 2011 and in addition to his non-executive directorships has worked with a number of distribution businesses on implementing new initiatives.
Rory worked in the adviser technology market for over twenty years. After LSD Software (acquired by Fame Computers in 1991), he co-founded 1st Software with Mik in 1994 and they were joined by many of the moneyinfo team (formerly Sammedia) as the company grew. After leaving 1st in 2008, Rory has been an angel investor, Chairman, NED and informal adviser to over ten early stage companies which presently include Ecodesk, MyIce, Spacehive, Beetle Capital Partners and Work on Wheels. Rory has also raised money for leukaemia research and hospital facilities for teenagers through his family’s charity, Tildy’s Trust.
